I am a social anthropologist and current PhD student at the University of Cambridge (Queens’ College). I study social and economic change in the wake of extractive capitalism, with a focus on Indigenous communities formerly involved in nickel mining in Kanaky/Nouvelle-Calédonie.
Prior to the PhD, I was Research Fellow at University of Melbourne, working with A/Prof Jennifer Day on her ARC Discovery Project looking at urban settlements and customary land agreements in Port Vila, Vanuatu. I have also done research with West Papuan musicians in Melbourne for my Honours thesis and critical anthropological practice in Britain for my MSc dissertation. Aside from my academic experience, I worked on disability advocacy, homelessness policy, and youth affairs in Victoria, Australia, and building peace in Bougainville.
I have a Bachelor of Arts (Politics & International Studies and Anthropology; 2017) with Honours in Anthropology (2021) from the University of Melbourne, and a Master of Science in Social Anthropology from the University of Oxford (Wolfson College; 2023).
